  I had already made a booking for a car and then noticed they had nine 1-star ratings out of a 10 rating total. So I was prepared for the worst. But I had a good experience. The staff was friendly. Sure, they tried to sell me extra insurance just like any other rental company does but they weren't pushy and stayed very polite. I got a brand new Toyota Camry while I booked a compact car (Toyota Aygo or similar). Return of the car went smooth as well. I didn't realize there was a drop off lane and I parked it but they just came over and helped me there. I think Dollar Cars and Thrifty are part of Hertz because they share the same office. So it's a that's also good because that means it's an established company. No complaints here at all.

  Don't use this service! Ended up paying almost $400 more than originally supposed to. They added "empty tank" option (they indicated it's mandatory) and road assistance even though I told them not to. "I added it anyway, it's for safety" - the lady said. It also added redeculously high tax to the hire. I had my own insurance, they tried to sell me theirs saying mine doesn't work in Canada - total lie!!!. She didn't even look at my insurance and made that assumption. Avoid! It's all well orchestrated dishonest scheme.

  I had such a bad experience with the Manager, Maria, of the Dollar Car Rental at Vancouver Airport (YVR). I reserved a full size SUV, it indicated a Jeep Grand Cherokee (or similar). When I went to pickup my car, they offered me a Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand), they said it was the same category. For people who know cars, that is not a full-size SUV, but rather a compact SUV (similar to a RAV4, etc.). If I wanted to rent a compact SUV, I would of reserved that model and paid less money. We had a lot of luggage to carry so I needed a big car... She refused to give me a Grand Cherokee or another large SUV without paying an extra (double the price!). She also seemed very proud that her name often makes its way on social media and reviews (in a negative way might I add...). It’s appalling that these type of managers still exist in a customer-centric world, absolutely nothing was done to remedy the situation. Well, I took out my smartphone, went on Expedia and was able to reserve on the spot a full size SUV with Avis next door (for less money on top of that). I went to the Avis counter and what a pleasure, they gave me the choice between 3 models (Grand Cherokee, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery). I drove off with a brand new Grand Cherokee and will never look back again at Dollar! Do yourself a favour and don’t rent from these thieves.

  The worst car i ever rented. It smelled, it vibrated, it was dirty and they didn't gave a f*** about it when i complained.
